Future NASCAR driver?

Forget Wheaties, this boy says Donuts at daycare are the formula for success in NASCAR. Maybe we should give Dunkies a call for a sponsorship.

First cone

Jack had his first icecream cone. Actually, took it out of my hand and scurried off across the lawn as far away as he could get. Then turned his back. Hillarious.

Hogs vs Dogs

Jacqui's collegue Chad and his wife Theresa invited us to watch a University of Arkansas Razorbacks play the Georgia Bulldogs (baseball). It's a HUGE deal here. Big stadium, lights, stands, jumbotron. I think the Razorbacks won the baseball world series last year. You can sit in the outfield on the hill and bring in beer, food and even a grill if you want (a few people did). The Mascot, Ribby, gave Jack a hard time for showing that his favorite American League team is the Red Sox.

Our First Chicago Visitors

We got a surprise visit from Jerry & Perry who flew in for the weekend from Chicago.

First Easter Egg Hunt

There was an Easter Egg Hunt in the neighborhood and Jack got to meet the big bunny. As you can see here, he doesn't trust him. Must be the eyes.
Lots of kids in the neighborhood, and we met some more people.

We got a foot of snow overnight and that is a big deal down here. They don't plow, or salt or sand the streets. On average they only get a total of 10 inches for the whole year. They just don't have the equipment for it, so everything is shut down.
We made a little snow-man, I showed Jack how to make snowballs, and we put together a make-shift sled (slippery packing tape on the bottom of the box).

Who knew you could go on a real safari in Arkansas. Way to close to alot of these animals. The emu was angry and the herd of zebras was right there.
In this photo Jack meets the baby bear.

St. Pat's day in Eureka Springs, Arkansas

The pug-nosed Irish boy proudly wears his green and celebrates his first St. Pat's day.

We celebrated Jack's 1st birthday in the exec housing where we await the arrival of the movers. A bit sad with no friends around, no plan to celebrate and our kitchen still in boxes (we can't bake a cake for the little guy).

So... we went to a local restaurant called The Catfish Hole. Jack had peach cobbler with a candle in it (sorry no cake here?).
